November is “Heron Month” here at Street Creatures… and since I tend to think of jazz as the soundtrack for autumn days and urban landscapes (not that I don’t enjoy listening at other times of the year), Jazz Guetta’s chromatic heron felt like the right tone to set for the second Saturday of the month. Welcoming the Neighbors
In honor of a patient and stately great blue heron I’ve been seeing on daily walks, I’ve declared November “Heron Month.” To celebrate an urban heron colony near Oakland, California, USA, Golden Gate Audubon organized a flash-mob chalk art event in April 2015 to welcome their avian neighbors and introduce them to the community.
